A Living Legacy of Healing, Courage, and Connection

TIP 2.0 is more than a certificate program — it’s a movement.
Now in its legacy phase, TIP carries forward over a decade of groundbreaking work in trauma-informed developmental care, wrapped in love, reflection, and systems change.

With over 250 graduates in more than a dozen countries, this program is part of a growing, global tapestry of leaders who are redefining how we care for babies, families, and each other.

When you join TIP, you're not just enrolling in a program — you're stepping into a legacy.

“This is the legacy portion of my work in the world. Not an ending, but a threshold — from holding it all myself to inviting others to carry the thread forward.” — Mary E. Coughlin

Program Structure: A Journey in Three Acts

Each level builds on the one before:

Level 1: Foundations

  • Knowledgeable

  • Healing Intention

  • Personal Wholeness

Level 2: Empowerment

  • Courage

  • Advocacy

  • Role Model & Mentor

Level 3: Transformation

  • Scholarly

  • Leader for Change

  • Capstone Project

Each module follows a dynamic arc of science, soul, and skills—with integrated opportunities to reflect and grow at every turn. Learners engage with brief quizzes after each major section to reinforce key concepts, spark curiosity, and deepen integration. Before advancing to the next module—or claiming CE credit—participants complete a meaningful application project and a personal reflection assignment. This ensures the learning is not just informational, but transformational, as each step becomes both a mirror and a map for how we show up in our work, our leadership, and our lives.

TESTIMONIALS

What our graduates are saying:

"My life changed forever"

"The greatest insight I gained from this program is that it all starts with me. To truly be a Trauma-Informed Professional, I need to be whole and healthy myself. By filling my own cup, I can better serve others. This program awakened me to the importance of healing from within, so I can fully support others on their journey." - Amy WolfingerPT, CEIM, TIP

"Changing Healthcare from Within"

"The greatest insight I received from this program is that we have the ability to change healthcare for the better with a trauma-informed approach. The work to change healthcare may sound daunting, but it starts within, and little by little, we can accomplish great things, within our own circle of influence and beyond."

– Justin Parsley, BSN, RN, CCRN, TIP

"A Soul-Transforming Approach to Evidence-Based Care"

"Becoming a trauma-informed professional is a soul-transforming process. For infants in the NICU, integrating trauma-informed care into our clinical care has the potential to alter the course of the lives of the babies and their families in a positive way. Trauma-informed care should not be seen as a nice thing to do, but a critical part of providing excellent evidence-based care." – Britt Pados, PhD, RN, CLC, FAHA, FNAP, TIP

"Opening Eyes and Leading with Compassion"

"My eyes are wide open. This experience has pushed me to be more of a courageous leader in nursing. I learned that trauma is reality not seen or known, compassion is kindness in action, and connection is what will make me a better leader. Learning about the ACEs has also inspired me to want to implement some things on my unit. I truly enjoyed this experience and can’t wait to share the good news with my unit and in my personal life." – Alissa Marie Gumbs, MSN, TIP
